If I was to have my pick at any old videogame to be remade, I would choose that horrible E.T game on the Atari. Think about it, you could have absolutely no fun watching the little alien go from screen to screen, in HD!
No, honestly, I would choose Earthworm Jim for Sega Genesis. It was an incredibly fun game with quirky characters and a great mix of gameplay. There was everything from shooting to racing, bungee jumping with snot to dog sitting.
My favorite boss was the snowman in the eerie “What the Heck?” level. I remember him giving me the chills. I found him to be extremely creepy, because he was extremely out of place. He was an ice cold snowman in a hot cheese level. And all of the female screams heard throughout the level set the tone for a place women should fear going. Or at least that’s what I thought as a kid.
Groovy!
Earthworm Jim deserves a modern remake because it was a game that delivered pure fun. Its sequel was also a delight, so seeing Jim today in a shiny, revamped version of his previous adventures would be wonderful.

Man, where d’ya find these games! They’re ancient!!
Seriously though, I do agree that with all the industry focused on the capabilities of better hardware, we’ve kind of forgotten to build and enjoy simple games – well except for most Wii games. It’s time they remedy that.
P.S.: If you could add my blog banter to the list of participants that would be great!
I’m all for a new E.T. game! ^_^
not.
I never really played any Earthworm Jim games. I think I may have played it in the store one time though on the SNES.
Cheers! : )
